Oldsmobile 442 Model Cars

The Oldsmobile 442 originally came out in 1964 as a stripped down version of a Oldsmobile Cutlass. Featuring a four barrel carburetor, a 4-speed transmission, and a dual exhaust, and that's where the name 442 came from. In 1968, the Oldsmobile 442, got elevated into it's own model, no longer being a version of a Oldsmobile Cutlass.

That lasted until the year 1971, where it was reverted into a optional package through the mid 1970s, and then revived in the 1980s. Oldsmobile made a W-30 option of the 442. The usual Oldsmobile 442, is already a high performance car, but, when you add the W-30 package, it kicks things up a notch. It starts with the 4.0 Liter Oldsmobile V8, but the W-30 package, for example, you get air vents at the front of the car, and other sporty bits and pieces, that improve the cars performance.

The build quality is very good, it's durable and powerful. It's a classic and iconic muscle car, and it brought a lot of success to Oldsmobile. Nowadays, there are not many of them, but it's a real pleasure to look at if you even get the chance to see one, you will know what I mean. It's a real piece art, and the automotive history.
